August Family Adventure Camping

Stay at Tribune Bay Outdoor Education Centre for an adventure getaway for the whole family! Experience camping on the quiet side of Tribune Bay with your very own beach access, adventure programs, and a private site. For each night you stay, you and your family get to participate in one of our amazing outdoor adventure programs!

Families will choose from a 2-hour guided session of:

  • High Ropes
  • Leap of Faith
  • Rock Climbing
  • Rappelling
  • Kayaking
  • Stand Up Paddle Boarding
  • Guided Hikes

Prices per night (including the adventure activity fee):

Campsite: $55 + GST per adult, $35 + GST per youth
Yurt: $70 + GST per adult, $50 + GST per youth (minimum rate based on 2 adults 2 children
Skylight Cabin: $95 + GST per adult, $75 + GST per youth
Cabin with Kitchen: $115 + GST  per adult, $85 + GST per youth
* minimum charge on yurts and cabins based on a two adults and two children rate
* access to a cooks-shelter included
* youth are ages 5-16, under 5 are free
* other families may join your program, it is recommended that you book your activities in advance.

Drop In August Programs

Planning a trip to Hornby Island? Looking for something to do? We have some great family-friendly adventure activities for ages 5 and up!

$35 for 2-hour session of any of the following programs:

  • Kayaking
  • High Ropes
  • Leap of Faith
  • Rock Climbing
  • Rappelling
  • Stand Up Paddle Boarding
  • Guided Hikes

Session Times:

10:00-12:00
1:00-3:00
4:00-6:00

Registration for Drop in Programs is at 9:30, 12:30 and 3:30 at the centre kiosk (40 metres down driveway).

First come first serve – pre-booking is preferable. Please call 250 335 0080 or email info@tribunebayoutdoored.ca to book.

Other Camps Offered

Residential Camp – Each summer we host a week long summer camp for youth finishing grades 4-6. Registrations happens through Courtenay Recreation Centre – please find this camp in their Summer Recreation Guide

Deaf Camps – We partner with Family Network for Deaf Children to host a Family Deaf Camp (register with us), as well as a week long camp for deaf youth (register with DYT through FNDC) – please find more information and registration information at the FNDC website

Camp Hornby – This family camp is for individuals who are blind or partially sighted and is hosted in partnership with Camp Hornby Society and Blind Beginnings – please contact and register with Blind Beginnings.
